Meet the Team Behind the Tools

Sergio
Sergio is a skilled mechanic with over 12 years of experience in the automotive and diesel industry. He began turning wrenches in high school before advancing his training at Heartlands in Ionia and Lincoln Tech in Indianapolis. Sergio is certified in heavy-duty diesel engines and electrical systems, and he’s working to become a master certified in both fields. At D&T Equipment, Sergio focuses on diagnosing and repairing diesel pickup trucks. He takes pride in his diagnostic expertise—reminding customers that pinpointing issues takes much more than a quick glance. What he enjoys most about his role is the camaraderie of the team he works alongside. Outside the shop, Sergio can be found at truck shows, playing sports, or spending time with friends. Born in Florida with roots in Mexico, he comes from a close-knit family with three sisters.
Marcel
Marcel is the Lead Mechanic at D&T Equipment with over 14 years of industry experience. Specializing in advanced electrical and mechanical diagnostics, Marcel holds master certification in heavy-duty diesel and is nearing completion of his master automotive certification. His expertise spans international and Freightliner trucks, Ford trucks, as well as Cummins and CAT engines. At D&T Equipment, he enjoys putting his diagnostic skills to the test and takes the most satisfaction in fixing trucks that others can’t. When he’s not in the shop, Marcel enjoys fishing, hunting, and boating. He’s also passionate about everything related to trucks, motorcycles, and fast cars.
Kit
Kit is a Diesel Mechanic at D&T Equipment with 20 years of experience in the trade. He has worked on cars most of his life and went on to serve in the U.S. Marines from 2006 to 2014, where he spent eight years as a diesel mechanic. During his service, Kit completed two deployments: one in Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF) and another in Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF). His career has given him broad hands-on experience with everything from diesel and gasoline vehicles to semi-trucks, buses, tractors, and personally owned vehicles. Outside of work, Kit enjoys fishing, spending time at home, and taking care of his animals. Known for his full beard, tattoos, and love of trucks, Kit takes pride in his work and says simply, “I love my job.”
